
Dr. Tyson has over 30 years academic and applied experience planning, implementing and evaluating strategic extension education/communication (social marketing) integrated rural development programs/projects. Most of his work deals with agriculture/environmental issues. He is Professor in the Department of Communication at ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ where he teaches courses in strategic public communication, attitude and behavior change theory, research methods, group/team communication, environmental communication, and public relations. In addition, he was Director of his university’s Center for Social Research for several years. He has worked both multi-year and short-term assignments in the east and southern Africa, the West Indies, and New Zealand. He has extensive survey research experience, program design and evaluation experience, and advanced qualitative/quantitative analysis skills and has published over 45 books, book chapters and journal articles.
