TASTING NOTES
A the light red colour. This Pinot shows a layers of black and red fruits on the nose followed by blackcurrant, raspberry, and violets on the mouth. This wine is rich, and mouth-filling, showing a velvety texture with modest tannins. The finish is fresh, soft, and long.
BACKGROUND
Located on the banks of the river Cher in the heart of the Loire Chateaux, this family winery has been passed down through the generations since 1790. From 1 hectare then, today the Simoneaus cultivate a 59 hectares vineyard, planted mainly with Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Chenin and classified A.O.C Touraine. Antoine Simoneau, the current proprietor, took up responsibility for the business in 1977.
FOOD MATCHING
Pinot noir goes well with a range of foods including game, lamb, chicken, pork. Its versatility also makes it a nice choice for vegetarian dishes, casseroles and stews, garlic mushrooms and a range of cheeses.
