TASTING NOTES
Pure wine from the chalky hillside soils. A surprising rustic fruity red wine with the stamp of the terrain from which it comes. Rich and characterful with plenty of expression. An attractive fruity nose with woodland fruit, sweet pepper mix with subtle smoky aromas on the palate. Ample, full and charming structure.
BACKGROUND
Located on the banks of the river Cher in the heart of the Loire Chateaux, this family winery has been passed down through the generations since 1790. From 1 hectare then, today the Simoneaus cultivate a 59 hectares vineyard, planted mainly with Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Chenin and classified A.O.C Touraine. Antoine Simoneau, the current proprietor, took up responsibility for the business in 1977.
Cot is also known as Malbec, which makes the inky black Cahors reds & works so well in Argentina.

Ideal as an aperitif with spicy canapés . Nice with game, beef stew, Bouef Bourguignon, roast red meat, duck (magret or rillettes) ,Indian Tandoori chicken, and cheese & onion pie. A good combination with blue cheeses such as Garstang blue.
