TASTING NOTES
Brillant garnet colour with hints of purple, A defined fruity nose of violet, raspberry and redcurrant. Supple and soft palate. Typical character of cabernet franc - A balanced and fruity red wine.
BACKGROUND
Located on the banks of the river Cher in the heart of the Loire Chateaux, this family winery has been passed down through the generations since 1790. From 1 hectare then, today the Simoneaus cultivate a 59 hectares vineyard, planted mainly with Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Chenin and classified A.O.C Touraine. Antoine Simoneau, the current proprietor, took up responsibility for the business in 1977.
FOOD MATCHING
The cabernet Franc will give you his best with a pheasant or lamb casserole, roast meat, beef as T-bone or sirloin steak with peppery sauce . It is going well with chicken or turkey with a mushrooms cream ( morels sauce) , hot pot and all the kind of salty pies . Best served at 17°C.
