BACKGROUND
In 1920 the owner of the place Sophie Simian passed away without having any descendant and the place was bequeathed to a servant at the place Marcelle Laudret. She was the grandmother of the owner today Jean-Pierre Serguier. The Serguier name comes from Yves Serguier from a wine grower family in Chateauneuf du Pape, who married the daughter of Marcelle Laudret.
Jean Pierre Serguier has been the owner since 1981. Thus he is the 4th generation of wine growers and the 3rd generation at Chateau Simian.
Today the estate has 24 ha. of vineyards: 4 ha. in Chateauneuf du Pape, 10 ha. in Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Rhone Village and 10 ha. Vin de Pays.
