TASTING NOTES
Ripe fruit with strong cassis, blackberry and leafiness with sweet cedar flavours from the oak aging. The palate is rich, full bodied with sweet fruit flavours.
BACKGROUND
The Boustred family had purchased the 60ha property in 1994 and planted 30 hectares of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Pinotage and began to renovate the buildings.
In 2001, Michel Roland became partners with the family and began working together and upgrading the cellars. The vineyards are on a steep hillside, overlooking wondeful views of Table Top Mountain and lay on rocky, clay and limestone soils.
The wine is made from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage which is hand picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks and wooden tanks. It is then matured in one year old French oak barrels for 12 months.
