TASTING NOTES
Quite a full bodied style of Pommard although the tannin is now reducing well to form a well rounded Burgundy of the utmost quality.
BACKGROUND
Fréderic Mazilly presides over this domaine which was founded by his father, Pierre in 1950. During the last half century they have increased their vineyard ownership which now comprises 15 hectares spread over 12 appellations. Although principally a producer of red Burgundy, the 2 white wines are stunning; very full and long with only a short time in barriques. The reds, although produced with less tannin than formerly, are still substantial wines which can age for long periods. Fréderic has recently been appointed President of the Domaines of the Côte d’Or and represents growers in all matters Burgundian.
