TASTING NOTES
A deep cherry red with violet hues. Powerful bouquet of ripe dark fruits, along with liquorice and balsamic aromas, and toasted notes from the cask.This wine is extremely flavourful, with good body, and is full of fruit. It is well balanced with a slightly sweet touch.The idea behind this wine is that the grapes go directly from the vine into oak casks for 12 months, and then from here directly into the bottle. This makes for a surprisingly different wine where the ripe fruity flavours go particularly well with the flavours and aromas derived from the fine oak. This results in a complex balance of smoky and toasted hints, in harmony with the fruity aromas and flavous of the Tempranillo grape type.
BACKGROUND
Bodegas Loli Casado is a family-run winery, in its third generation, located in Lapuebla de Labarca, its vineyards are located between the villages of Laguardia and Lapuebla de Labarca, The first vines were planted 75 years ago, and at first the wines were produced in bulk. Iin 1982 the Bodegas began bottling their wines. The winery has its own 25 hectares of vineyards, Producing approximately 150.000 bottles each year.Only 6000 bottles of this particular wine were made and it is produced from a 75 years old vineyard.
