TASTING NOTES
Soft and supple, with very prominent plum fruit. Lovely silky tannins and a warming spiced finish from the oak.
BACKGROUND
The Chateau has been in the hands of the Massonie family for three generations and is currently under the control of Betrand Massonie. A talented wine maker with drive and passion who’s respect for his magnificent terroir is beging to earn some rave reviews.
The tiny vineyard is looked after with immaculate care and attention which some have described as resembling a home garden. De-budding takes place over April or May and June or July, the vines are de-leafed and tidied up.
The grapes are hand harvested and sorted by hand upon entering the vat house.
Fermenting takes place in temperature controlled, stainless steel vats and each plot of vines are fermented separately. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (30% new).
