TASTING NOTES
A blend of Orion and Pheonix. A fine example of an English sparkling wine. A bone dry sparkling with bags of fruit on the nose which follows through to the palate with a great foam.
BACKGROUND
The grapes Orion and Phoenix are pretty much disease resistant, they have been confused with Reisling in some blind tastings. They use stainless steel vats, and the wine has gone through the Champagne Method. A tonne of grapes were used to produce 900 bottles. The vineyard located in Merstham, Surrey is 2.5 acres and about ¾ of an acre is planted with Orion and Phoenix, all the grapes were picked early October 2003, and were in pefect condition, when we had a very hot summer. Second batch will be ready Christmas 2010.
