TASTING NOTES
This wine has a beautiful shiny colour. The bouquet is fine with floral and dried fruit intermixed. In the mouth this wine is ample, and greasy with a very good persistence and good complexity. This wine is delicate and racy.
BACKGROUND
This is in the village of Sarras, in Ardèche, on top of the granite slopes of St. Joseph that extends the twenty hectares of the Champal vineyard.
In a land of stones, which gives low yields, on benches landscape features of the right bank of the Rhone, the vine are generously exposed south / south-east.
The privileged location of the Champal vineyard is characterized by poor soil and microclimate with wind, where it is possible to practice a very rational culture of the vine in strict compliance with the natural balance.
FOOD MATCHING
Ideal as an aperitif, the wine expresses its qualities as an accompaniment to delicate dishes with refined tastes like lake fish ( perch, pike, carp ), exotic dishes and goat cheese. Perfect also with finely prepared dishes as fried Scallops and lobsters with asparagus tips and a gratin of crayfish. After 3 or 4 years this Condrieu can be very suitable with small poultry or chicken with cream.
